3rd Edition Directory of Civic Engagement and Leadership Development for MA youth

The League of Women Voters of Massachusetts Citizen Education Fund is a nonpartisan educational trust whose mission is to encourage the informed and active participation of citizens in government. The League believes that the future of our democracy depends on the next generation of voters and leaders. To ensure that the next generation is prepared, young people need opportunities to learn about government and the electoral and political processes.

The League has compiled this directory as a resource for young people interested in civic engagement, citizen participation in politics and government, and leadership development. Though each program is different, each in some way provides young people with the tools and motivation to participate in the democratic process later in their lives.

League reads the Declaration of Independence

The Shrewsbury League of Women Voters has produced a video reading of the Declaration of Independence.

Members of the League took turns reading portions of the document. Newly-elected League President Robin Snyder, joined Rep. Karyn Polito, Board of Selectmen Chair Moira Miller, School Committee Chair Erin Canzano, and over a dozen of their fellow LWV members at the recording studios of Shrewsbury Media Connection.

It is now showing on two SELCO channels: Channel 28: Public Access and Channel 30: Government Access.

It can also be viewed at You Tube, and it is embedded here:
